Marcus Mariota wasn’t at 100 percent, but he showed why he gives the Tennessee Titans the best chance to win football games. Mariota came off the bench to lead the Titans to a win over the Jacksonville in Week 3, he’s likely to start when the Titans face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at 10 a.m. PT/1p.m. ET on FOX, DirecTV or try FuboTV (free trial).
Mariota, playing desexperiencing numbness and a tingling sensation in his right (throwing) hand, guided the Titans (2-1) to a 9-6 win over the Jaguars, which vaulted the Titans into a first-place tie with the Jaguars in the AFC South. The Titans have now beaten the Jaguars 5 out of the last 6 games, including a sweep in 2017.
The Titans figure to face another difficult opponent in the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. The Titans offense has struggled this season, ranking 29th in total yards and 30th in scoring. The defense has been the catalyst, ranking third in scoring at 16.7 points game.
The Eagles (2-1) eagerly awaited Carson Wentz‘s return after he miss nine months after tearing his ACL in December. Wentz was clearly rusty against the Colts, but he did throw for 255 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Wentz was sacked five times, scrambled three times and dove for a first down on one of his runs.
