Corey Graham had two interceptions in two weeks, until he didn’t. The NFL has changed the ruling of the Philadelphia Eagles turnover in the third quarter from a Corey Graham interception into a strip-sack fumble for Kamu Grugier-Hill. Graham gets credit for the fumble recovery.
Grugier-Hill will now have one forced fumble and one interception on the season. Graham remains at one interception on the year.
Grugier-Hill has had a good year as a starting linebacker on the Eagles. He has 42 tackles on the year, one quarterback hit and five tackles for loss, but his job isn’t a rushing linebacker. Grugier-Hill has been excellent in coverage this season, allowing 15 catches for 118 yards as opposing quarterbacks have a 68.3 passer rating when targeting him.
The Jared Goff turnover gives him five interceptions in his last two games. Goff now has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 4,274 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for a 98.6 passer rating. He went 35-of-53 for for 339 yards with no touchdowns and one interceptions.
The other Eagles turnover on defense was by Avonte Maddox, who had a dominant game against the Rams. Maddox continued a surprising rookie season by getting his first start at outside cornerback in his career, allowing just one catch for eight yards while being targeted six times. He had a pass breakup and an interception as Jared Goff had a 0.0 passer rating when targeting him.
“He’s been a real consistent, consistent player for us, outside of the injury and the setback, but even yesterday — and he’s played multiple positions, which means he’s a highly intellectual guy that understands scheme. He’s a young player that’s just going to continue to get better,” said Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. “Really excited for him last night to get in there and make the plays he did. The interception was a thing of beauty and then of course the end of the game, to be in that position to sort of contest that throw.
“This guy, he comes to work every day, he feeds off the veteran players. Malcolm [Jenkins] has been a great leader for him back there in the back end. Corey Graham has been a great leader for him back there, and he just continues to get better each day.”

Maddox has been targeted 21 times this season, allowing 11 catches for 139 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. Opposing quarterbacks have a 49.6 passer rating when targeting Maddox, who has two interceptions, three pass breakups and a forced fumble.
Thanks to Sidney Jones being out with constant hamstring injuries, Maddox was called upon to play outside cornerback for the first time in a NFL regular season game. Maddox played the position in the preseason, showing flashes of his potential with his athleticism and ball-hawking ability, but shined brightest when the Eagles needed him most.
